Xiamen University was founded in 1921 as an educational institution that embodies a new type of Chinese education. Today the institute is recognized not only as one of the most successful, but also the most beautiful in China. It is located near the sea coast in Xiamen city. Fully equipped campuses allow students to immerse themselves in a new life, meet friends from all over the world, and engage in serious scientific research.

Admission and tuition fees

The process of submitting documents takes place online. Applicants need:

  • Registration form from the official website of the university (then the document must be printed).
  • Copy of the passport.
  • A copy of the school certificate with a transcript of grades (with translation into English or Chinese).
  • A copy of your HSK or similar English proficiency test.
  • Letter of recommendation from school / university teachers.
  • An essay in English or Chinese (minimum 800 words) explaining why the applicant decided to study in Xiamen.

Those applying for language courses who do not graduate from high school will need to provide a transcript of their current grades.

Studying programs

The university offers a wide range of programs designed for foreign citizens. Students from other countries can get a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree, or they can simply study Chinese and get acquainted with the local culture.

One of the advantages of the institute is the availability of educational services in English. Programs are available at all levels, and the diploma given to graduates is no different from its Chinese counterpart.
