Tongji University is one of the oldest educational institutions in China. It was founded in 1907. Now 17 institutes work on the basis of the university. Teaching is carried out in 9 scientific areas: philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, natural and technical sciences, medicine, management. There are 81 specialties for bachelors, 141 for graduate students, 58 for doctors.
The university has a strong research and production base: 15 government laboratories and engineering research centers, 4 hospitals and 3 schools.
Also today the university is actively developing international cooperation and exchange.
The university has courses for the improvement of the Chinese language.

Admission and tuition fees
To successfully enter the university, you must pass the entrance exams and have a good score in the previous school. For talented university students, various benefits in the form of scholarships and grants have been created. The grant includes free tuition, accommodation, insurance, and a monthly stipend of 1,000 to 3,500 RMB ($ 160 to $ 550) per month. Studying programs
Tongji University pays special attention to international education and poetry for applicants, there is a wide range of all kinds of training programs in English. Currently, there are 75 undergraduate programs, 55 graduate programs, 31 doctoral programs, and 25 post-doctoral programs.
Dormitory
Foreign students can live in one of three hostels. Single and double occupancy is provided. Each room has a standard set of everything you need: basic furniture, private bathroom, air conditioning, telephone, TV and Internet access.
There is also a shared laundry room, kitchen and computer room for students. The cost of living varies from 582 to 1224 dollars per month. For double occupancy, the amount is divided in half.
