Southern Medical University is located in Guangzhou, near Baiyun Mountain. It was founded in 1951 as the first military medical university of the year and after 28 years of successful work has become one of the key national universities.

Southern Medical University is ranked 1574 in the 4icu world ranking and 1034 in the Webometrics world ranking. Southern Medical University has a fantastic location at the foothills of Baiyun Mountain in the Guanzhou Valley. By the number of students, Southern Medical University belongs to the middle category – no more than 20 thousand students study here. The educational institution accepts both local and foreign citizens. The university cooperates with other international universities on student exchange issues.
The university employs 3,500 teachers, almost half of whom are candidates of science, three dozen academicians, 4 laureates of state prizes in the field of pharmacology.
Admission and tuition fees
To be admitted to Southern Medical University, the applicant must complete the standard application process. Tuition fees can be paid for by a scholarship from the Confucius Institute or the Government of China, in addition, the university itself allocates separate funds for the payment of grants to students from other countries. In addition, the university provides a discount of 2/3 of the total cost of training to those students who agree to undergo an internship in medical institutions in the PRC.

The Southern Medical University has created many programs for students in various educational fields, specializing in medicine, physiology, biology, pharmacy. The university has 8 own clinical bases (hospitals, clinics) and 20 secondary schools, such as the College of Psychological Medicine, College of Biopharmacy, College of Traditional Medicine, College of Health and Hygiene. There are 67 study programs available for bachelors, 42 for master’s programs.
