Sichuan University of Foreign Languages ​​(known in the world as Sichuan International Studies University) is one of the institutions of China that arose immediately after the revolution. Such famous people as Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping are considered its founders. From the very beginning, the activity of the educational institution was associated with philological education. The Russian language was considered the main profile.

Since 1950, the Institute has been training specialists in the field of linguistics. In recent years, other humanities have been added to the list of areas of education: pedagogy, sociology, economics and business, tourism, etc.

The price of educational services depends on the chosen program. So, for language courses, it equals 6,000 yuan (about $ 100) per semester. The cost of undergraduate studies is 15,000 yuan (about $ 2,500) per year. The amount is allowed to be deposited both in a lump sum and with payment every semester. Tuition for a master’s degree will have to pay 20,000 yuan (about $ 3400) per year.

Studying programs

The university offers foreign applicants several options for study programs:

  • Language courses: short-term (6 months) and long-term (12 months).
  • Bachelor’s degree (13 specialties).
  • Master’s degree (14 specialties).

The duration of undergraduate studies is 4 years. Depending on the specialty, the language of instruction can be either only Chinese or Chinese with elements of English.

To obtain a master’s status, you will have to study for 2-3 years. The most popular specialties are available for foreign applicants (“Chinese as a foreign language”, “English (translation)”, “French language and literature”, “International business”, “Journalism and communications”, “Linguistics and applied linguistics”, etc. etc.).
