Northwest University is an educational institution with a long history, located in the ancient city of Xi’an. The age of the university is almost 120 years old. During this time, he retrained from an imperial classical institution to a dynamically developing institution that works with students from all over the world.

The university is best known abroad for its master’s and doctoral programs in Chinese language and chemistry. Both specialties are taught in English. Also, the university is included in the national project “211” and is under the special control of the state. All this contributes to its rapid improvement.

  • A copy of the school certificate / bachelor’s degree with grades (notarized translation required).
  • Certificate of no criminal record.
  • Power of attorney from parents and guardian who is a citizen of the PRC (for applicants under 18 years of age).

Please note: the package of documents is initially sent to the university in electronic form, but upon arrival in China, the originals with translation must be submitted to the training center.

The cost depends on the program and is calculated upon request.

Grants

The University has its own grant – the Silk Road Scholarship Program. It is designed for undergraduates and those who wish to obtain a doctoral degree. To receive material support, candidates are selected no older than 45 years with a progress of at least 75%. In addition, it is necessary to demonstrate proper knowledge of Chinese (HSK-5) and English (IELTS – 5.5, TOEFL – 60) languages.
In addition to the costs of the curriculum, the scholarship covers dormitory accommodation, health insurance and monthly expenses of RMB 3,000 (about $ 480).

Studying programs

The main programs for international students:

  • Language classes.
  • Bachelor’s degree: specialties “International Economics and Trade”, “Geological Oil Exploration”, “Chinese Literature”.
  • Master’s degree: specialties “Chinese”, “Chemistry”.
  • Doctorate.

Faculties

Today, the university has 21 faculties, where training is conducted in more than 70 specialties. A separate structural unit is the Institute for International Cultural Interaction, which works only with foreign students and applicants. The teaching staff is selected in such a way as to best interact with students who are just starting their acquaintance with the Chinese language.

Dormitory

The university has a developed infrastructure specifically for representatives of the international faculty. For the student, not only dormitories are open, but also a network of canteens and shops, which allows them to establish meals and feel more comfortable.
