The Metropolitan Pedagogical University was established in 1954. The university currently consists of 17 institutions offering a wide range of educational programs. The Metropolitan Pedagogical University is one of the modern centers for teaching foreigners the Chinese language in the PRC.
The university has established contacts with leading universities from around the world. In addition, Metropolitan Pedagogical University is one of the pivotal universities in China in the training of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language, as well as one of the methodological bases for developing the HSK test.
