About the university
Location: Hefei, China
The University of Science and Technology is located in Hefei (capital of Anhui province). It was founded in Beijing in 1958 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, but was moved to Hefei during the Cultural Revolution.
In the 1950s, China experienced an acute shortage of qualified personnel in the field of the national economy, science and technology. That is why the university was founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Currently, the University of Science and Technology consists of 9 faculties and 23 departments.
