About the university

Sichuan University is one of the oldest educational institutions in China. It is believed that it began its formation as early as the 18th century, but the official date of the opening of the university is 1896. From that moment on, the institute began to quickly gain positions and today is rightfully considered a good option for admission both among Chinese and foreign applicants.

The university is a participant in Program 985 and Program 211, aimed at improving the level of higher education in the Middle Kingdom and attracting international students.

Sichuan University is traditionally included in the list of the top 100 universities in the PRC. At the same time, his rating rises annually and grows along with the number of applicants. Students have at their disposal not only classrooms, but also research centers where they can engage in their own experiments. Medical students undergo practical training in four hospitals at the university.

Those wishing to enter the university will have to prepare a certain package of documents. Among them:

Several years ago, the university took a course to strengthen financial support for foreign applicants. Not only traditional government scholarships (Confucius Institute, Chinese Government, etc.) are paid here, but also their own university grants.   • Triple room – 6000 rmb (about $ 1050).

Those interested can rent accommodation off campus. The International Student Relations Department will assist in finding a suitable apartment and solving other formalities. Monthly costs for food, transportation, etc. are approximately 2000 RMB (about $ 340).
